Another year wiser

Last night we celebrated my birthday. Yes, we had Japanese food again. This time at Hanabi Restaurant along Bukit Timah road.
Hanabi is the Japanese term for “fireworks.” Literally, the word “hana” translates to flower and “bi” is fire. “fire flower” just like a fireworks display.
We ordered about 9 plates of shasimi and really feasted on it. The yellowtail was fresh & firm. The quality of the salmon varies with each serving. Jaime enjoyed the California Tamaki and had her second serving.
The chawanmushi was skily smooth, but was a little blend. It’s didn’t bothered us since both of us loves to add some wasabi and soya source to our chawanmushi.
We had 2 plates of Prawn Tempura, miso soup, BBQ Mackerel, fried chicken, 2 servings of yakitori, fried silky tou fu and some other dishes. Gave soft shelf crab a miss knowing that we are going to Jumbo for seafood dinner on Sat. The feasting ended with 2 servings of steamed Japanese peas. It’s a nice way to end the meal. As usual, Talia had her slightly warm milk and a full dose of wasabi aroma.
No cake for this birthday man as yummy Ben & Jerry ice cream suit him better.
At the end of the day, just before bed, I did a quick recap of the previous year.
Boy! It really passed quickly. The year started with decision to add a new member to the family, we also decided to do some last minutes travelling before we kana grounded by the baby for a while. A quick trip to Hong Kong (Disney was horrible) and shenzhen, another trip to Japan (wonderful & yummy). In April, we grant ourselves yet another holiday to relax in Bali.

It was so amazing, we fell in love again & again. The lovely night swim in the large and empty pool. Strolling along the almost empty (due to fear of bombing) Nusa Dua beaches. Shopping in Ubud’s art market and visiting the art galleries. Eating BBQ seafood under the stars, while listening to the live band. Oh! Not forgetting the relaxing spa & massages, the awesome sunrise, the friendly people…..
We were enjoying the simple things in life, not knowing life itself was forming within us. Yes, God gave life to Talia Ann about a week before our Bali trip. She was there with us when we relaxed in the beautiful island and while we were enjoying God’s creations. We did not know, but God must have planned it all along. It was only a few weeks after the trip that we realised His wonderful timing.
Our own effort may not yield the best result, however when we rest in Him and just enjoy all that He has provided, He’ll simply take over and complete the picture. He paints it much better than we can imagine. Thank you Daddy!
The rest of the year was just watching and waiting for the egg to hatch. Opps…I mean pop…no, no, I mean the tummy to grow and pop….oppss… you know what I mean.
One whole year just flew by. Have I grown? Did I learn anything? I believe I did. I learned to rest. To let Go and let God take over. I learned not worry, even when Jaime spotted in the 1st trimester, knowing that He who begin the good work will bring it completion. I learned that His timing is always the best. For the first time I finally understand the love of a father for a child. I had a gleams of the Father’s love for me too.
Now, I’m eagerly looking forward to new lessons this year….
