At 15 months old now, he is also putting 2 words together to say things like eat egg, sit down (I think he started “eat egg” at 13mths, daddy added). I remembered that I did this once when Talia was 18 months old because she wasn’t so forthcoming with words and I did some research and was told that a 18 mth old should have an average vocabulary of 50 words. I think hers was about 60 words then.

I also read that the way to encourage speaking is to first say a noun and then add an adjective or two to it. For instance, say car, then red car, then big red car.

I am sure looking forward to the day where I can start to have a conversation with my son.
