Babies need a variety of toys to stimulate their development at different stages of their growth. I’ve started researching and planning out the toys Talia Ann would need for her first 18 mths when she was like….a 18 weeks-old foetus.

Knowing that storage space would always be the limiting factor, I try to make sure that the toys do not duplicate each others too much in terms of learning “system”. Cost is a factor too, considering the short lifespan of these toys.

Fisher Price & TinyLove provide a very good progressive system and we ended up with many of their toys. I lost count with the Fisher Price toys we have…some we bought, others were gifts…*take a quick look*…I see a crib soft keyboard, a key chain set thingy, a Light Up Musical Stacker, a Drum Tambourine Set, Jumperoo & the most recent Roll-a-Rounds Tumble Bug with a lot of balls. For playmat & mobile, we chose the TinyLove’s Tropic Isle & Symphony instead after much research and reading of online reviews.

When it comes to exercsaucer, I’m stuck. There are many conflicting reviews and frankly, none of them were built to my liking. As a computer gamer, I’m a firm believer in replay values. For such a large chunk of Environmental UNFRIENDLY Plastic that the child would lose interest in after a few weeks, none of them were justifiable purchase on its own.

Jaime came to the rescue and suggested renting an exersaucer for a month to try.

See how happy my girl was. My analysis paralysis nearly robbed Talia of hours & hours of fun, as well as mental & motorskills development.

The month is almost up and we are considering to rent another exersaucer for the next month. Maybe, we can drop the whole idea of buying huge chunky plastic exersaucer and protect the environment by renting it. Talia would also get to enjoy the different toys on the various exersaucers.

Hmm…it took me a while to buy into the idea of renting large toys. However, it’s making more and more sense to me especially when steam cleaning of the toys make them cleaner than when they first leave the factory in China.

They are so clean that Talia considers them a delicacy.
